Mei was very friendly and met you at the door. Showed you around. All the doors are keypad locks with specific numbers to get in. We stayed in room 2, which has a separate private bathroom, which was great for my partner as he is toilet shy. Windows are old-fashioned lift to open, but they have put lock screans on to increase security and safety. Mei came in whilst we were out to open curtains and refill the tea and coffee stand. Which is in the room. Breakfast was amazing, cereal, toast, and fried options all included in price, and mei made sure all the condiments were stocked and a fresh pot of coffee was brewed when we came down. We didn't meet Duncan on our stay, but he contacted us prior to arrival to make sure everything was okay. Free parking on prive for 3 cars, although this is a narrow opening and difficult to see from the road.

It is a lovely guest house with a very kind host. The room was bigger than expected and we had no issues. Since it was facing the garden the only thing we could hear that night was a dog barking, but that was hardly any trouble. The room and the attached bathroom were both really clean and provided everything one might need for a short trip. A bus stop is very close by and you can walk easily into town within 20 minutes. Breakfast was really good and Lin cooked freshly for us. You could choose from egg, bacon, beans, sausage and some more options. Check in and check out were without complications and a big big thank you for providing us with sandwitches when we had to catch our early flight and therefore couldn't attend breakfast! :D

Mai, Duncan and Bobby made us very welcome and looked after us exceptionally well. Room clean, warm and comfortable. Shower excellent. Decent breakfast included in the price which made stay even better value for money. Although on a main road, it was quiet with no noise from traffic. Lots of busses into and beyond Edinburgh right outside the door (flat fare of £1.80 for adults no matter how long the journey with £4.50 daily limit), or easy 20 minute walk into the city centre. Plenty of local shops of all descriptions to enjoy in the vicinity. Perfect location for sightseeing in and around Edinburgh - and we will be doing so again later in the year!

I had a very pleasent stay at the Edinburgh Holiday Guest House. The host was very courteous, friendly as well as considerate. The breakfast was fantastic. I had fresh eggs and beans with some toast and jam. My room was small but cozy and very clean. You´ll reach city center via bus (station in front of the guest house) or by food (ca. 20 min). In the area you`ll find some really nice restaurantes to dine like the Southpour, which I can recommend. You can reach Arthur`s Seat in just a 30 minute walk. I would definitely come back.

Breakfast was excellent and Mei, who prepared the breakfast was very helpful in arranging for our departure. Calling a taxi for us and allowing us to keep our luggage in for a few hours after checking out was a bonus. We were traveling from the west coast of the United States and were going to a hotel closer to the airport, but the check in time would have made us take our luggage around on our last day of sightseeing and that would have been most difficult.
